Vacuum-fired (EDS) systems use an exhauster to draw combustion gases through the tube, allowing longer runs and custom U or straight configurations for high-bay buildings. Power-vented (Omega II) units use a blower to push combustion gases, offering pre-engineered, fully assembled packages for faster installation in smaller footprints.

Most Combustion Research Corporation radiant tube heaters are available configured for either Natural Gas (NG) or Propane Gas (LP). Fuel type is specified at the time of order since burner orifices and gas valves are matched to the selected fuel, so confirm propane configuration when requesting a quote.

All models include a 10-year warranty on radiant tubes against internally created corrosion, plus a 3-year warranty on ignition controls, electrical components, and burner parts, depending on the series. This warranty reflects the durability of the corrosion-resistant aluminized steel or stainless steel tubing.

Single-stage heaters run at one fixed output, while two-stage and modulating dual-input models adjust between high and low fire (typically 30% lower on low fire) to match heat loss in real time. Modulating systems improve comfort and can reduce fuel consumption further during partial-load periods like mild weather or off-peak hours.

Stainless steel burner housings are recommended for corrosive or high-humidity environments such as natatoriums, wash bays, and chemical processing facilities, offering superior resistance to chloramines and road salt. Powder-coated housings are a cost-effective choice for standard warehouses, manufacturing floors, and dry industrial applications.

Reflect-O-Ray systems like the 6.0 EDS are engineered for high-bay spaces with 20ft+ ceilings, while smaller diameter models suit lower clearance buildings.
