A vacuum heater is a gas- or oil-fired, low-intensity infrared tube heating system that operates under negative pressure created by an exhauster fan. Combustion gases are pulled through corrosion-resistant radiant tubing rather than pushed, delivering efficient, even radiant heat across warehouses, hangars, and other high-ceiling facilities.

Vacuum heaters are available from 40,000 to 250,000 Btu/hr per unit, with systems custom-designed based on ceiling height, insulation, and square footage — from 500 sqft spaces to facilities exceeding one million square feet. A heat loss calculation from a manufacturer representative determines correct sizing for your application.

Stainless steel burner housings resist corrosion from humidity, chloramines, and road salt, making them ideal for natatoriums, wash bays, and chemical processing facilities. Powder-coated housings offer reliable performance and cost savings for standard warehouse, agricultural, and service garage environments where corrosive exposure is minimal.

Vacuum-fired systems are available in natural gas, propane, and oil-fired configurations. Oil-fired models suit rural or off-grid facilities without natural gas access, while natural gas and propane units serve most commercial and industrial buildings with standard utility connections.

Vacuum-fired infrared tube heaters typically deliver 30-50% energy savings compared to conventional forced-air heating systems. This is achieved through direct radiant heat transfer, dry tube construction with no filters or condensation-prone components, and efficient combustion that reduces wasted heat loss through venting.
